Take two parts warmth of home, mix in with the primal comfort of unconditional love, bake with some phenomenal home cooking and sprinkle with motherly wisdom. This is your recipe for Jennie, The mother to our beloved Giraffe Family.

Always ready to help, Jennie has the best shoulder to cry on. She has a way of understanding the problems of the world, one person at a time. Entirely devoted to her family, she takes pride in her home, her husband and her children.

Not many women would scour the earth with their husband, but to Jennie, this was just another step in the path life had chosen for her. She has had to make makeshift homes everywhere from Uruguay to Uganda. Learn new languages, and make new friends, all the while taking care of three children and looking after her husband and lifetime sweetheart, Jerry.

You can catch Jennie in the kitchen making treats for the many friends of Jeremy, Jeana and Jeb. She is also an avid gardener, and takes pride in her many rare flowers and herbs from around the world. One rule of thumb to the visitor to the Giraffe Family: don’t trample Jennie’s flowers, or else you’re kaput!

Masterfully mixing love and discipline, Jennie is no push over, She doles out life lessons and insight to her three children, preparing them for the world ahead. She’s the one the kids run to whenever there is a family dis agreement, and Jennie is both judge and jury, and sometimes even executioner.

But above all, what is most evident is how much our Jennie loves her children and husband, and to what great lengths she goes to instill a sense of confidence, comfort and home in all four of them. The rock of the family is Jennie Giraffe.

One of the fun things that Jennie does around the house is have regular holiday celebrations for every cultural festivity in the book, from Chanukah to the Chinese New Year and from Christmas to Noruz. There is never a dull moment at the Giraffe House because there’s new and exotic revelry every few weeks to keep the guests coming.
